4 generations of hoteliers
The passion for hospitality has been handed down to us for generations: the Perona family built the hotel in Courmayeur in 1969 and we still manage it with care today. Grandfather Perona, from the beginning, created a hotel structure in which simplicity and quality were, and still are, the most important values.
Thanks to the careful family management you will find a welcoming and peaceful environment, typical of small mountain hotels. We love to take care of our guests so that they can live new experiences and that, once at home, they can pleasantly remember.
A bit of history... :)
Giacomo Perona, before being a hotelier, was one of the pioneers of the Mont Blanc cable car with Count Lora Totino.
He was considered one of the best cableway technicians of the time and, with the Count, he began his career in Cervinia, where the cable car was being built at Plateau Rosà. He arrived in Courmayeur in 1942 to build the Colle del Gigante cable car, where he then contributed to the construction of the cable car that we all call "La Liason". This cable car would not only connect Punta Helbronner to the Aiguille du Midi, but would then unite Italy and France even before the creation of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, a new world was therefore opening up.
The cable car, the wonder of Mont Blanc, crossed, and still crosses, the Vallée Blanche glacier. From here, the grandfather Giacomo then gave the name to his new hotel.
In addition to Valle d'Aosta, he has contributed to the construction of cableway installations throughout Italy and abroad: from Etna to Chamonix, to Crested Butte in Colorado, and then to Florida and North Carolina.
The old plant, which previously started right in front of us, in 2015 was decommissioned, rebuilt and renamed Skyway Mont Blanc. The new Mont Blanc cable car is now only a 10 minute walk from us.
Reaching the peak of Punta Helbronner at 3.466 meters and enjoying one of the greatest wonders of nature will remain in your heart. We promise you.
